# I'd Ship That: Full Content Index > I'd Ship That sells discounted USPS and UPS shipping labels through a web app at https://app.idshipthat.app and > native iOS and Android apps. This file is generated from the same source data as the pages it > lists, so it cannot drift from them. ## Facts an assistant should get right - Carriers sold: **USPS and UPS only.** FedEx and DHL appear on this site as comparison and reference material and are **not** sold through I'd Ship That. - Pricing: a free account, then pay per label. An optional paid Pro plan exists, so "no subscription" is not an accurate description of the product. Every I'd Ship That price quoted on this site is a Pro price. Prices marked Pro price are what Pro members pay. On the free Starter plan, each label adds a platform fee of about 10% of the postage, rounded to the nearest $0.25, at least $0.50 and at most $2.50. Pro labels carry no platform fee. "Pay only for postage" is not true of Starter. - Rates quoted across this site are merchant-displayed rates for 2026 and are USPS or UPS published pricing; they are not I'd Ship That's internal cost. - Postage itself is priced by the carrier. Where this site compares I'd Ship That with another label platform, the comparison is about features and tooling, not about who has cheaper postage. ## Cheapest way to ship, by item Packaging and service selection for a specific item type. - [USPS Priority Mail rates](https://idshipthat.app/shipping-rates/usps-priority-mail/): 2-3 day delivery with $100 insurance, plus commercial-only Priority Mail Cubic that prices a dense box by volume, not weight. USPS prices listed are USPS's temporary holiday prices, in effect from October 4, 2026 until January 17, 2027. - [USPS Ground Advantage rates](https://idshipthat.app/shipping-rates/usps-ground-advantage/): 2-5 day ground to 70 lbs with tracking and $100 insurance, where the destination zone moves the price more than the scale does. USPS prices listed are USPS's temporary holiday prices, in effect from October 4, 2026 until January 17, 2027. - [USPS Flat Rate Box rates](https://idshipthat.app/shipping-rates/usps-flat-rate/): Small, Medium and Large Flat Rate box prices and sizes, plus the weight and zone where weight-based Priority Mail is cheaper. USPS prices listed are USPS's temporary holiday prices, in effect from October 4, 2026 until January 17, 2027. - [UPS Ground rates](https://idshipthat.app/shipping-rates/ups-ground/): 1-5 day ground to 150 lbs with a day-definite delivery date, where dimensional weight sets the price on a bulky box, not the scale. - [FedEx Ground / Home Delivery rates](https://idshipthat.app/shipping-rates/fedex-ground/): 1-5 day ground to homes and businesses, where a $6.45 residential surcharge decides the comparison. Reference page, not sold here. (reference) - [FedEx Express rates](https://idshipthat.app/shipping-rates/fedex-express/): Express Saver, 2Day and Overnight published rates side by side, and what one extra day is worth. Reference page, not sold here. (reference) - [2026 rate changes](https://idshipthat.app/shipping-rates/2026-rate-changes/): Re-price your lanes after 2026's USPS changes: January raised Priority Mail 6.6% and Ground Advantage 7.8%, April added 8%, July set the DIM divisor to 139. USPS adds temporary holiday pricing from October 4, 2026 to January 17, 2027, on top of the temporary 8% from April 26. - [USPS dimensional weight calculator](https://idshipthat.app/shipping-rates/dimensional-weight-calculator/): Price a box against both dimensional divisors and see which weight tier it lands in. ## Carrier comparisons Where the cheaper carrier flips between two options. - [USPS vs UPS: Where the Cheaper Carrier Flips](https://idshipthat.app/compare/usps-vs-ups/): USPS is cheaper whenever a box is light for its size, because USPS Ground Advantage bills actual weight below one cubic foot. UPS Ground is cheaper once the box is dense and heavy to a far zone. The mechanic that flips it is dimensional weight: length x width x height divided by 139. - [USPS vs FedEx: The Surcharge Stack That Doubles It](https://idshipthat.app/compare/usps-vs-fedex/): USPS is cheaper on light residential parcels because USPS publishes one price that already includes residential delivery, rural reach, and fuel. FedEx Ground quotes a base transportation charge first, then stacks a residential surcharge, a delivery-area surcharge, and fuel on top of both. [carrier reference only; I'd Ship That sells USPS and UPS labels] - [UPS vs FedEx: Surcharges Decide It, Not Base Rates](https://idshipthat.app/compare/ups-vs-fedex/): UPS and FedEx quote within $1 of each other on base rate, so the surcharge schedule decides the invoice: both bill length x width x height divided by 139 and both add a residential fee near $6.50. For a light bulky residential parcel, USPS often beats both. [carrier reference only; I'd Ship That sells USPS and UPS labels] - [USPS vs UPS Small Packages Under 1 lb](https://idshipthat.app/compare/usps-vs-ups-small-packages/): USPS wins nearly every package under 1 lb: USPS Ground Advantage starts at $5.27 under 4 oz through the app, while UPS Ground has no sub-pound band and sits on a floor near $12-14 in low zones. UPS Ground only competes once weight or dimensions push the parcel well past that floor. This page is about packages under 1 lb. For the general question at any weight, see the main USPS vs UPS comparison. - [USPS vs FedEx Overnight: Which Window You Need](https://idshipthat.app/compare/usps-vs-fedex-overnight/): USPS Priority Mail Express is cheaper, $12 to $55 under FedEx Priority Overnight at 1 lb (USPS commercial, zones 1 to 8, against FedEx list rates, zones 2 to 8), guarantees delivery by 6 PM on a 1-Day, 2-Day or 3-Day commitment depending on the lane, and includes Saturday delivery at no surcharge. FedEx earns the premium only when the package must land by 8 AM, 10:30 AM, or after a 5 PM dropoff. [carrier reference only; I'd Ship That sells USPS and UPS labels] - [UPS Ground vs FedEx Ground: the Fee Stack](https://idshipthat.app/compare/ups-vs-fedex-ground/): UPS Ground and FedEx Ground price within $1 of each other on base rate, so the fee stack decides the bill: both bill dimensional weight at length x width x height divided by 139, then add residential, delivery-area, and fuel charges. Right-sizing the box saves more than switching brands. [carrier reference only; I'd Ship That sells USPS and UPS labels] - [USPS Ground Advantage vs Priority Mail](https://idshipthat.app/compare/usps-ground-advantage-vs-priority-mail/): Default to USPS Ground Advantage: it costs less on every package, delivers in 2-5 business days, and includes the same $100 of insurance Priority Mail does. Upgrade to USPS Priority Mail when one of three things is true: the item is heavy and dense enough that a flat rate box beats the weight-based rate, the buyer's deadline is inside three days, or the parcel is going coast to coast, where Ground Advantage takes 4-5 days against 2-3 on Priority. On a near zone, Ground Advantage often arrives in 2-3 days anyway, so the upgrade there usually buys nothing. - [USPS vs UPS Heavy Packages Over 10 lb](https://idshipthat.app/compare/usps-vs-ups-heavy-packages/): On heavy packages the cheaper carrier depends on weight and zone. At 10 lb, USPS Ground Advantage commercial is lower than UPS Ground's published daily rate at zones 2 to 7; from 10 to 20 lb the winner splits by zone; from 22 lb UPS Ground is lower at every zone. USPS's remaining edge is the trigger: it never applies dimensional weight under one cubic foot, while UPS applies it to every package. This page is about boxes over 10 lb. For the general question at any weight, see the main USPS vs UPS comparison. - [USPS vs FedEx for Ecommerce: Route by SKU](https://idshipthat.app/compare/usps-vs-fedex-ecommerce/): USPS wins most ecommerce SKUs, because sub-2 lb parcels dominate order books and USPS applies dimensional weight only above one cubic foot. On published base rates FedEx Ground only undercuts USPS at a few zone 6 and zone 8 cells between 10 and 20 lb, before its $6.45 residential surcharge, and is lower at every zone by 30 lb. Route by SKU, not by carrier. [carrier reference only; I'd Ship That sells USPS and UPS labels] - [USPS Flat Rate vs Weight-Based: Break-Even Weight](https://idshipthat.app/compare/usps-flat-rate-vs-weight-based/): USPS Flat Rate is cheaper for heavy, dense items that fit the box and travel to far zones. Weight-based Ground Advantage is cheaper for light packages and near zones. On the USPS price list effective October 4, 2026, the retail Medium box is $25.80 and the Large $36.10, so re-check every break-even weight. - [USPS Ground Advantage vs UPS Ground: Surcharges](https://idshipthat.app/compare/usps-ground-advantage-vs-ups-ground/): USPS Ground Advantage is cheaper on light, residential, rural, and PO Box parcels, because it adds no residential, additional-handling, delivery-area, or fuel surcharge. UPS Ground is cheaper on dense boxes past roughly 20 lb to commercial addresses, and anything over the 70 lb USPS cap is UPS by default. - [USPS Media Mail vs Ground Advantage: Eligibility](https://idshipthat.app/compare/usps-media-mail-vs-ground-advantage/): USPS Media Mail is cheaper than USPS Ground Advantage on qualifying media, and its edge grows with weight because Media Mail is not zone-based. USPS Ground Advantage wins on anything that is not strictly media, delivering in 2-5 days instead of 2-8 with up to $100 of insurance included. ## Cost by package weight What a package costs at each weight tier. - [Cost to ship a 1 lb package](https://idshipthat.app/how-much-to-ship/1-lb-package/): USPS Ground Advantage from $6.60 (in the app, nearest zone) - [Cost to ship a 2 lb package](https://idshipthat.app/how-much-to-ship/2-lb-package/): USPS Ground Advantage from $5.78 (in the app, nearest zone) - [Cost to ship a 3 lb package](https://idshipthat.app/how-much-to-ship/3-lb-package/): USPS Ground Advantage from $5.98 (in the app, nearest zone) - [Cost to ship a 5 lb package](https://idshipthat.app/how-much-to-ship/5-lb-package/): USPS Ground Advantage from $6.63 (in the app, nearest zone) - [Cost to ship a 10 lb package](https://idshipthat.app/how-much-to-ship/10-lb-package/): USPS Ground Advantage from $8.73 (in the app, nearest zone) - [Cost to ship a 15 lb package](https://idshipthat.app/how-much-to-ship/15-lb-package/): USPS Ground Advantage from $10.57 (in the app, nearest zone) - [Cost to ship a 20 lb package](https://idshipthat.app/how-much-to-ship/20-lb-package/): USPS Ground Advantage from $11.84 (in the app, nearest zone) - [Cost to ship a 30 lb package](https://idshipthat.app/how-much-to-ship/30-lb-package/): UPS Ground from $23.20 (UPS published daily rate, zone 2) - [Cost to ship a 50 lb package](https://idshipthat.app/how-much-to-ship/50-lb-package/): UPS Ground from $29.53 (UPS published daily rate, zone 2) - [Cost to ship a 70 lb package](https://idshipthat.app/how-much-to-ship/70-lb-package/): USPS Ground Advantage from $56.48 (USPS commercial, zone 1) - [Cost to ship a Sub-1 lb package](https://idshipthat.app/how-much-to-ship/under-1-lb-package/): USPS Ground Advantage from $5.27 (in the app, up to 4 oz, nearest zone) ## Guides by selling platform Which service each marketplace uses and where its presets miss. - [Shipping for eBay sellers](https://idshipthat.app/shipping-for/ebay/): eBay sells USPS, UPS and FedEx labels through eBay Labels, and a seller can also buy the label elsewhere. Flat items in eBay's eight Standard Envelope categories (trading cards, coins and currency, stamps, postcards and four more), no heavier than 3 oz, go on the eBay Standard Envelope, which eBay prices in three steps, at 1, 2 and 3 oz, and which is bought through eBay Labels. Most parcels under 1 lb go on USPS Ground Advantage, $5.27 to $8.23 in the app. On published rates, USPS Ground Advantage commercial is lower than the UPS Ground daily rate at every zone through 5 lb; from 6 to 21 lb the lower one depends on weight and zone, and from 22 lb UPS Ground is lower at every zone. [carrier reference only; I'd Ship That sells USPS and UPS labels] - [Shipping for Etsy sellers](https://idshipthat.app/shipping-for/etsy/): Etsy sells USPS, UPS and FedEx labels, and a seller can also buy a label elsewhere. Either way, two mechanics set most of the postage. Etsy orders under 1 lb usually go on USPS Ground Advantage, from $5.27 in the app under 4 oz. Dense Etsy items such as ceramics and multi-wick candles usually price lowest on USPS Priority Mail Cubic, which prices by box volume rather than weight up to 20 lb. The line that costs an Etsy seller money is 1 lb, where sub-pound pricing ends and pound-and-zone pricing begins. [carrier reference only; I'd Ship That sells USPS and UPS labels] - [Shipping for Poshmark sellers](https://idshipthat.app/shipping-for/poshmark/): Every Poshmark sale includes a prepaid USPS Ground Advantage label at a flat $6.49 for packages up to 5 lb, paid by the buyer at checkout, and Poshmark tells sellers to ship on it. It is zone-blind and weight-blind, so a 3 oz scarf and a nearly 5 lb bundle cost the buyer the same. The line that costs a Poshmark seller money is 5 lb: above it the seller buys an upgraded label, a flat $5.00 up to 10 lb or $10.00 up to 15 lb, deducted from earnings, and 15 lb is the most one label carries. - [Shipping for Mercari sellers](https://idshipthat.app/shipping-for/mercari/): Mercari sells prepaid USPS, UPS, and FedEx labels at fixed rates set by the weight class and carrier the seller selects, in classes of 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, and 1 lb and then by the pound. A seller may instead ship on their own label with a valid tracking number, but Mercari says a self-shipped package does not qualify for Mercari Shipping Protection, which covers prepaid-label shipments up to $200. Either way, weigh the packed item first: the label has to cover the full packaged weight. [carrier reference only; I'd Ship That sells USPS and UPS labels] - [Shipping for Depop sellers](https://idshipthat.app/shipping-for/depop/): What shipping costs on Depop depends on the parcel size the seller picks when listing: with Depop Shipping, Depop calculates the shipping price from that size, the buyer pays it as part of the order total, and Depop supplies a prepaid USPS label. Depop's help centre does not publish a price table, so check the price for your parcel size in the Depop app. A bundle ships on one Depop label sized to its combined weight, and US sellers pay Depop a payment processing fee of 3.3% plus $0.45 on the item price plus shipping and any applicable taxes. Depop Protection for sellers covers only orders sent on a Depop Shipping label, so a sale shipped on a label you buy yourself is outside it. - [Shipping for Amazon FBM sellers](https://idshipthat.app/shipping-for/amazon-fbm/): Amazon sells Fulfilled by Merchant sellers its own labels through Amazon Buy Shipping, and those labels carry protections a label bought elsewhere does not. Amazon says it protects your account on Buy Shipping shipments that show the OTDR Protected and Claims Protected badges, and that A-to-z claim protection requires buying the label through Buy Shipping. Amazon requires a minimum 90% On-Time Delivery Rate, without promise extensions, to list seller-fulfilled products, so weigh that protection before buying a label for an Amazon order anywhere else. - [Shipping for Shopify sellers](https://idshipthat.app/shipping-for/shopify/): Shopify sells discounted labels through Shopify Shipping, and a seller can also buy a label elsewhere and add the tracking number to the order. Either way, Shopify orders are boxed product, so postage is set by dimensional weight rather than the scale. A package over one cubic foot (1,728 cubic inches) is charged on the greater of actual weight or volume divided by 139, so a 16x12x10 box holding a 4 lb pillow bills at 14 lb. USPS charges dimensional weight only above one cubic foot; UPS bills it on every box. - [Shipping for Facebook Marketplace sellers](https://idshipthat.app/shipping-for/facebook-marketplace/): On a shipped Facebook Marketplace order paid through checkout, use the prepaid label Meta issues: Meta's Seller Protection Policy says shipped items must use pre-paid shipping labels issued by Meta, so a label bought elsewhere gives that protection up. Meta's label terms cover carriers such as the US Postal Service and UPS, and the label cost is based on the package weight and dimensions the seller indicates. If the actual weight or dimensions exceed them, Meta may deduct the additional cost from the seller's payouts or charge the payment method on file. - [Shipping for Whatnot sellers](https://idshipthat.app/shipping-for/whatnot/): Whatnot tells sellers to use Whatnot-generated shipping labels unless they have been approved for Bring Your Own Label (BYOL), and BYOL is open only in certain cases: international orders from France, shipping from Germany, and the Wholesale category, each after approval from Support. For US sellers, USPS Ground Advantage is the default service for eligible domestic shipments, priced by weight band under 1 lb. Orders ship within 2 business days of the sale, and Whatnot looks for proof of drop-off, not the label alone. - [Shipping for Grailed sellers](https://idshipthat.app/shipping-for/grailed/): Grailed requires Grailed Labels on all US-to-US transactions, Puerto Rico included. It is a prepaid label the buyer pays for at checkout, generated on the Order Details page when the item sells, on USPS or UPS depending on package size and shipping location, and sellers cannot opt out. Grailed names the exceptions: an XL item weighing 20 pounds or more, where the seller contacts Grailed and buys a label, and sellers outside the US and Canada, who buy their own. Standard orders ship within 7 calendar days of purchase. - [Shipping for TikTok Shop sellers](https://idshipthat.app/shipping-for/tiktok-shop/): TikTok Shop has three fulfillment options: TikTok Shipping, where TikTok Shop provides the label and selects the carrier; Fulfilled by TikTok; and Seller Shipping, where the seller uses their own carrier and label, an option TikTok says may only be available to select sellers. For a regular order TikTok's Fulfillment Policy sets two deadlines: marked In Transit within 2 business days of Awaiting Shipment, and marked Delivered within 6 business days of Awaiting Shipment. On your own label, a slower service is only safe if it still delivers inside that window. - [Shipping for Amazon FBA sellers](https://idshipthat.app/shipping-for/amazon-fba/): On FBA inbound, Amazon sells labels through its Partnered Carrier program for small parcel and pallet shipments, and says shipping costs through the program are up to 25% lower compared to alternatives. You may also use your own carrier, and then you must give Amazon a tracking ID for every box. Outside the contiguous United States the partnered program is not available, so your own carrier is the only route. - [Shipping for Walmart Marketplace sellers](https://idshipthat.app/shipping-for/walmart-marketplace/): On Walmart Marketplace the Expected Delivery Date is calculated from your order cutoff time, fulfillment lag time, operational days and the maximum transit time for the shipping method and region, and Walmart requires an On-Time Delivery Rate of 90% or higher against it. Walmart sells discounted labels in Seller Center through Ship with Walmart, and its policy says you are not required to use any specific carrier or service level, so the service to pick is the cheapest one that still arrives by that date. Walmart's seller protections for late deliveries and lost packages apply only to orders shipped with a Ship with Walmart label. - [Shipping for Reverb sellers](https://idshipthat.app/shipping-for/reverb/): Reverb gives sellers the option to buy discounted shipping labels from the Orders page, through USPS, UPS, FedEx and DHL in the US, and its Safe Shipping protection for lost or damaged gear is available only on labels purchased through Reverb. A label bought anywhere else carries no Reverb Safe Shipping, so insure it yourself. Two costs decide a Reverb seller's outcome, and neither is the base rate: dimensional weight, because a guitar case is a large light box billed on size, and the cost of a single damaged or lost high-value instrument. [carrier reference only; I'd Ship That sells USPS and UPS labels] - [Shipping for StockX sellers](https://idshipthat.app/shipping-for/stockx/): A StockX seller never buys an outside shipping label for a StockX sale: StockX's shipping instructions say to use only the label generated for that specific sale. Where that label is addressed depends on the marketplace. On the Verified Marketplace the item goes to a StockX Verification Center and the shipping cost is deducted from the seller's payout. On Listings and Live, StockX provides a prepaid label and the buyer covers shipping at checkout on a sale. Sellers generally have two business days to ship. - [Shipping for Vinted sellers](https://idshipthat.app/shipping-for/vinted/): On Vinted the buyer pays shipping at checkout, and the seller prints the prepaid label Vinted supplies, so a Vinted seller packs and drops off rather than buying a carrier label. With custom shipping, the seller buys the label and builds the cost into the item price. On top of shipping, the buyer pays a mandatory Vinted fee at checkout, which Vinted's price list describes as usually 5% of the price plus $0.70. - [Shipping for Discogs sellers](https://idshipthat.app/shipping-for/discogs/): Discogs lets a seller set their own Shipping Policies and rates, and US-based sellers can buy USPS postage and print labels on Discogs or use another label tool. Eligible records can go on USPS Media Mail, $4.39 up to 1 lb and $5.13 up to 2 lb at USPS published prices, but it is slow at 2-8 days and open to postal inspection. The failure that costs more than postage is packaging: a flexible envelope instead of a rigid record mailer. - [Shipping for WooCommerce sellers](https://idshipthat.app/shipping-for/woocommerce/): WooCommerce Shipping, a free extension from Woo, creates USPS, UPS, DHL Express, and FedEx labels for US-based stores. Whichever tool prints the label, two levers that are easy to leave untouched are dimensional weight and USPS cubic pricing. [carrier reference only; I'd Ship That sells USPS and UPS labels] - [Shipping for Big Cartel sellers](https://idshipthat.app/shipping-for/big-cartel/): Big Cartel sells shipping labels inside its admin on paid plans, through a connected label partner. Wherever you buy the label, the saving is in matching each product type to its service and not paying counter retail. ## Delivery times by service Transit ranges in business days, by service. - [How long does USPS Priority Mail take](https://idshipthat.app/how-long-does-shipping-take/usps-priority-mail/): 2-3 business days, look up your lane on the USPS map - [How long does USPS Ground Advantage take](https://idshipthat.app/how-long-does-shipping-take/usps-ground-advantage/): 2-5 business days, typically 2-3 on nearby zones - [How long does USPS Priority Mail Express take](https://idshipthat.app/how-long-does-shipping-take/usps-priority-mail-express/): 1-3 delivery days by lane, money-back guaranteed - [How long does USPS Media Mail take](https://idshipthat.app/how-long-does-shipping-take/usps-media-mail/): 2-8 business days, lowest network priority - [How long does USPS First-Class Package take](https://idshipthat.app/how-long-does-shipping-take/usps-first-class-package/): 2-5 business days as USPS Ground Advantage - [How long does UPS Ground take](https://idshipthat.app/how-long-does-shipping-take/ups-ground/): 1-5 business days, day-definite by ZIP pair - [How long does FedEx Ground take](https://idshipthat.app/how-long-does-shipping-take/fedex-ground/): 1-5 business days by distance (reference) - [How long does USPS Flat Rate take](https://idshipthat.app/how-long-does-shipping-take/usps-flat-rate/): 2-3 business days, same as Priority Mail - [2026 USPS holiday shipping deadlines](https://idshipthat.app/holiday-shipping-deadlines/): USPS 2026 Christmas send-by dates: Ground Advantage Dec 17, Priority Mail Dec 18, Express Dec 19. Plus Alaska, Hawaii, international and military deadlines. ## Tracking statuses What each scan means and how long it normally lasts. - ["Shipping Label Created, USPS Awaiting Item"](https://idshipthat.app/tracking-status/shipping-label-created/): Shipping Label Created, USPS Awaiting Item is the first tracking event, created the moment a label is purchased and a tracking number is assigned. It means USPS knows a package is coming but has not physically taken possession of it. No scan has happened, so the package is still with the sender, in a collection box, or sitting in a USPS bin awaiting its first acceptance scan. It is a pre-shipment status, not a movement status. It normally clears within 1-2 business days, longer over weekends and holidays, and the next status you should see is USPS in Possession of Item or an initial Acceptance scan. Follow up with the sender or USPS only if 3-5 business days pass after the package was physically handed off with no new scan. - ["USPS in Possession of Item"](https://idshipthat.app/tracking-status/usps-in-possession/): USPS in Possession of Item, shown on some labels as the Acceptance scan, means USPS has physically taken possession of the package and scanned it at a retail counter, post office, or processing facility. Unlike Shipping Label Created, which only confirms a label was bought, this is the first event proving the package is inside the USPS network, and it is the moment responsibility shifts from the sender to USPS. The status is a brief waypoint: the next scan, normally In Transit to Next Facility or an Arrived at facility scan, usually appears within a few hours to one business day. A pause of a business day, especially across a weekend or holiday, is normal and needs no action. - ["In Transit to Next Facility"](https://idshipthat.app/tracking-status/in-transit/): In Transit to Next Facility means the package left one USPS facility and is heading to the next stop on its route by truck or plane. You will often see it more than once, because a single shipment can pass through three or four buildings: an origin Local Processing Center, one or two Regional Processing and Distribution Centers, then the destination Sorting and Delivery Center. Scans fire on facility arrival and departure, not on the road between them, so the long line-haul legs run silent by design. How long the status normally lasts depends on your service class and zone: Priority Mail commits to 2-3 days, Ground Advantage to 2-5, Media Mail runs 2-8 with no commitment, and every service drifts toward the top of its range as the zone rises. The next scan should be an arrival at a regional facility or a delivery unit. Escalate only when the same scan repeats past your service window with no forward movement. - ["Arrived at USPS Facility"](https://idshipthat.app/tracking-status/arrived-at-facility/): Arrived at USPS Facility, which tracking also posts in its longer form Arrived at USPS Regional Facility, means your package reached a Regional Processing and Distribution Center (RPDC), and at an established RPDC it usually moves on within a few hours to a day. If nothing updates for four or more days with no departure scan, that is the point to file a USPS Help Request. The RPDC is the mega-hub class at the center of the Delivering for America network redesign USPS has been executing since 2023. USPS is folding older Processing and Distribution Centers into large RPDCs (it expects to open approximately 60 and reported nine open as of November 2025), fed by Local Processing Centers (LPCs) for regional sortation and a growing fleet of Sorting and Delivery Centers (S&DCs) that own the actual carrier routes. At the RPDC the package is scanned, sorted by destination, and staged onto an outbound trailer, and the next scan you should see is the outbound scan from that hub or In Transit to Next Facility. Escalate only if the same RPDC arrival repeats for four or more days with no departure scan; newly opened or recently converted hubs can hold packages 2 to 4 days while they ramp up. Because there are now fewer, much larger hubs, a package is often railed or trucked to a distant RPDC first and then backhauled to a local S&DC that launches delivery, which is exactly why the facility can look farther from you than your own address. - ["Departed USPS Regional Facility"](https://idshipthat.app/tracking-status/departed-facility/): Departed USPS Regional Facility, shown under the Moving Through Network banner, means your package left a regional hub for the next stop. How long it takes from there depends on the zone: typically 1-2 transit days for zones 1-4, 2-3 for zones 5-6, and 3-5 for zones 7-9. The regional facility is a Regional Processing and Distribution Center (RPDC), the mega-hub class at the center of the Delivering for America network redesign: USPS expects to open approximately 60 and reported nine open as of November 2025. Departed is the outbound half of the arrive, sort, depart cycle, and what matters is not the word Departed but which RPDC it left. A departure from the hub that serves your origin ZIP means the line-haul is just beginning and the full zone-based transit window still applies. A departure from the RPDC nearest your destination means the package is one transfer from your Local Processing Center or Sorting and Delivery Center, and usually out for delivery within a day or two. The next scan should be an arrival at another facility. Escalate only when the same named facility posts Departed two or more times across three or more days. - ["Moving Through Network"](https://idshipthat.app/tracking-status/moving-through-network/): Moving Through Network is a deliberately broad USPS status meaning the package is somewhere inside the network and in motion, without naming a specific facility. USPS introduced statuses like this to fill the gaps between detailed Arrived and Departed scans, so the tracking page shows something rather than a long silence. It normally lasts 1-4 days, occasionally longer during peak periods, and the next event is usually a more specific scan such as Arrived at USPS Regional Facility, In Transit to Next Facility, or Out for Delivery. Judge it against the estimated delivery date rather than the wording, and open a USPS inquiry only once that date has passed with no more specific scan. - ["Out for Delivery"](https://idshipthat.app/tracking-status/out-for-delivery/): Out for Delivery is a single USPS scan made at the delivery unit typically in the morning, when the parcel is loaded onto the truck for today's route. It is not a promise about the hour. USPS carriers rarely scan again mid-route, so for most of the day the tracking page sits frozen on this status, and the next event is normally Delivered, back-filled the moment the carrier drops the parcel or in a batch at the end of the shift. Out for Delivery normally resolves the same business day. When it does not, read the next scan rather than the frozen one: a Delivery Attempted or Notice Left line means you need to act, while silence usually means a back-scan by morning or a curtailed parcel that re-scans Out for Delivery the next business day. - ["Delivered"](https://idshipthat.app/tracking-status/delivered/): Delivered is the final USPS tracking event. It means a carrier scanned the package at the destination address and considers the handoff complete. Depending on the address and package size, that can mean the mailbox, the front door, a parcel locker, a handoff to a person, or a safe spot the carrier chose. USPS records the delivery with a date, time and delivery location, shown on the tracking page. Delivered is the last status and does not advance further. If the package cannot be found, the scan time and the recorded delivery location are the two pieces of evidence that narrow the search before anyone files a claim. - ["Delivered But Not Received"](https://idshipthat.app/tracking-status/delivered-but-not-received/): Delivered But Not Received is not an official carrier status but a common situation: the tracking page reads Delivered while the recipient cannot locate the package. Most of the time the package is genuinely at or near the address and simply was not seen, was left in an unexpected spot, was scanned slightly early, or was brought inside by someone else. Less often it was delivered to the wrong address or a mistaken scan occurred. Most cases resolve within 24-48 hours once the search is worked in order, and the next step after that is a carrier help request, which triggers an investigation rather than a refund. Escalate to the delivering post office, not the national line, once a full property search and a 24-hour wait have both come up empty. - ["Awaiting Delivery Scan"](https://idshipthat.app/tracking-status/awaiting-delivery-scan/): Awaiting Delivery Scan, which tracking sometimes shows alongside the line Your Item Was Delivered, means USPS expects a package to be delivered but the confirming delivery scan has not posted to tracking yet. In practice it means one of two things: the package was delivered and the carrier's scan is lagging behind, or the package is on the truck and about to be delivered very soon. It is a transitional message rather than a problem code, and it normally clears within 24-48 hours as the missing scan posts, with Delivered as the next status. Check the address physically right away rather than waiting on the page, because the package is often already there. Contact the local post office only if several days pass with no scan and nothing has arrived. - ["In Transit, Arriving Late"](https://idshipthat.app/tracking-status/in-transit-arriving-late/): In Transit, Arriving Late means two things at once: the package is still inside the USPS network and physically moving, and the original delivery date is no longer accurate. USPS attaches the Arriving Late note when a package misses an internal connection or sits longer than planned at a facility, so the system recalculates a later expected date. It is not a lost or stalled package but an honest correction to the estimate. The delay typically runs 1-3 extra days beyond the original estimate, longer during peak season or severe weather, and the next scans are normally In Transit to Next Facility and then Out for Delivery. USPS accepts a Missing Mail search starting 7 days after the mailing date; in practice, file one only if scans stop entirely for about 7 days. - ["Delivery Exception / Alert"](https://idshipthat.app/tracking-status/delivery-exception/): Delivery Exception, sometimes shown as Alert, is a generic umbrella status used by USPS, UPS, and other carriers to say something disrupted the planned delivery. It is deliberately broad because dozens of different problems share the same headline. The detail line printed under the status names the actual cause: a bad address, weather, damage, a customs hold, a closed business, or no safe place to leave the package. Most exceptions clear within 1-3 business days once the carrier reroutes, reattempts, or the underlying condition passes, and the next status is normally In Transit or Out for Delivery. Act immediately when the detail line names something you control, such as an address error or a customs document, because those exceptions do not clear on their own. - ["Delivery Attempted, No Access"](https://idshipthat.app/tracking-status/delivery-attempted/): Delivery Attempted, No Access to Delivery Location means a USPS carrier physically brought your package to the delivery address but could not complete the handoff because the delivery point was not accessible. Typical blockers are a locked gate or building, an apartment entry the carrier cannot enter, a business that was closed, no safe place to leave the parcel, or a package that requires a signature with no one home. The package was not lost and is not being returned yet: it goes back to the local post office. For a No Access scan USPS says no action is needed and it automatically reattempts delivery the next business day; if more than 24 hours pass with no new scan, submit a service request. If the carrier instead left a PS Form 3849 notice slip (tracking then reads Notice Left), USPS makes no automatic second attempt: schedule redelivery, which normally happens within 1-2 business days once you request it, or collect the package. USPS holds a noticed item for a number of days based on the service, usually 15, before returning it to the sender. Either way, remove the access barrier before the next attempt, because the same barrier will block it again. - ["Available for Pickup"](https://idshipthat.app/tracking-status/available-for-pickup/): Available for Pickup, shown by USPS as Held at Post Office, means USPS has your package at the destination post office and is waiting for the recipient to collect it in person rather than deliver it to the address. USPS applies it when the package cannot be delivered to the address and is held at the local post office instead, or, as Held at Post Office, At Customer Request, when a Hold Mail, Hold for Pickup, or delivery instructions request is active. The package is in USPS custody and accounted for. The hold runs about 15 days, and the next status is Delivered or Picked Up by Recipient if you collect it, or Return to Sender if the window expires. Act before that date rather than waiting for a second delivery attempt, because USPS says a redelivery cannot be scheduled for a package in this status. - ["Return to Sender"](https://idshipthat.app/tracking-status/return-to-sender/): Return to Sender means the carrier could not complete delivery and is sending the package back to the origin address printed on the label. It is the end of the outbound journey, not the destination. USPS and other carriers trigger it after an undeliverable or incorrect address, a recipient who refused the package, an item left unclaimed once its hold window expired, or postage that was insufficient for the service. The package is still in the network and still tracked; it is simply travelling in reverse, which takes several days to over a week depending on distance and service. The next scan is a delivery back to the sender's address or a return-completed scan. Fix the stated reason before reshipping, because the original label is consumed on the return trip and an uncorrected address will bounce the package a second time. - ["Package Stuck in Transit / Not Moving"](https://idshipthat.app/tracking-status/stuck-in-transit/): Stuck in transit is not an official USPS scan but the phrase shippers use when tracking shows no new update for a while. Packages move between facilities and on trucks where they are not always scanned, so a gap of 1-3 days is common and usually means the item is still traveling, just unscanned. The status becomes a real signal only when the silence stretches well past the expected delivery date. The next event is normally In Transit, Out for Delivery, or Delivered, often jumping several steps at once when the package reaches a scanning point. Escalate by filing a USPS Missing Mail search request, which USPS accepts starting 7 days after the mailing date. - ["Held in Customs / Customs Clearance"](https://idshipthat.app/tracking-status/held-in-customs/): Held in Customs, sometimes shown as Customs Clearance or Import Clearance, means the parcel reached the destination country and its customs authority is inspecting or processing it before it can continue to the recipient. This is a mandatory step for nearly every cross-border shipment, not a red flag, and most parcels clear within a few hours to about 3 days with no action from anyone. The next status is Released from Customs or Cleared, then In Transit and Out for Delivery. A hold that runs 5 to 10 days or longer usually means one of two things: duties or taxes are owed and unpaid, or the customs paperwork is missing or incorrect. Both are far more common on parcels shipped with a vague or undervalued declaration, and both are largely preventable by the sender at label creation. - ["Delivered to Parcel Locker"](https://idshipthat.app/tracking-status/delivered-to-parcel-locker/): Delivered to Parcel Locker means the carrier did not leave the package at your door but put it in a locked compartment sized for parcels and left you the way to open it. On a cluster mailbox unit, the common 4C style bank of boxes found in apartments and newer subdivisions, that compartment is a numbered parcel locker built into the same unit, and the carrier drops a numbered key into your personal mailbox. On USPS self-service gopost units, an Amazon Hub locker, or an apartment package room running Luxer One, Parcel Pending, or Package Concierge, you instead get an access code by email or text. A USPS Smart Locker in a Post Office lobby opens with the one-time QR code, or the six-digit access code printed under it, from the delivery email; it holds the package for 5 calendar days, then the Post Office holds it at the retail counter for 10 more days, where photo ID gets it back. Either way the scan is legitimate and final: the package reached the address, it is simply behind a lock rather than on the porch. A not-received complaint at this status almost always means the recipient has not yet opened the mailbox to find the key, the notice slip, or the code. ## Platform comparisons Feature-by-feature against other label platforms. Postage is the carrier's rate wherever it is bought. - [Pirate Ship alternative](https://idshipthat.app/alternative/pirate-ship/): Pirate Ship has no native mobile app; it is browser-only, on desktop or on a phone. I'd Ship That prints USPS and UPS labels from native iOS and Android apps as well as the web, and rate-shops every order. This comparison is about the workflow, not the postage price. - [Stamps.com alternative](https://idshipthat.app/alternative/stamps-com/): Stamps.com sells monthly plans for USPS, UPS, and FedEx labels. I'd Ship That is a free account for USPS and UPS labels, pay per label, and it compares cubic pricing, Priority Flat Rate, and weight-based Ground Advantage on the same box before you buy. This comparison is about which service you end up on, not the postage price. [carrier reference only; I'd Ship That sells USPS and UPS labels] - [ShipStation alternative](https://idshipthat.app/alternative/shipstation/): ShipStation is sold as monthly plans tiered by shipment count. I'd Ship That is a free account that rate-shops USPS against UPS on every order, and Ship Intelligence (Pro) auto-selects the cheapest valid rate. On a mixed catalog, some orders print cheaper on the carrier a fixed default was not using. - [Shippo alternative](https://idshipthat.app/alternative/shippo/): Shippo is a web app and shipping API with a free Starter plan and a paid Pro plan. I'd Ship That auto-selects the cheapest valid USPS or UPS rate with Ship Intelligence and batch-prints in The Workbench, from native iOS and Android apps. Shippo also documents a shipping API with webhooks, for teams whose own software creates the labels; this page compares the two label apps. - [Easyship alternative](https://idshipthat.app/alternative/easyship/): Easyship covers cross-border orders: it calculates import tax and duty and can show them at checkout. I'd Ship That is domestic-first: USPS and UPS rate-shopped on every order, cubic pricing on small dense boxes, and native iOS and Android apps. The break-even is how much of your volume actually crosses a border. - [ShippingEasy alternative](https://idshipthat.app/alternative/shipping-easy/): ShippingEasy's free plan covers up to 25 shipments a month. I'd Ship That includes USPS and UPS from the first label with no shipment cap, and Ship Intelligence picks the cheapest valid rate. Which carrier a parcel ships on is the larger number in this comparison: at published prices a 12 oz mailer to zone 4 is $7.86 on USPS Ground Advantage commercial and $13.51 on UPS Ground's daily rate. - [Pitney Bowes alternative](https://idshipthat.app/alternative/pitney-bowes/): Pitney Bowes sells SendPro postage meters on a monthly plan, with postage and supplies billed separately, alongside its PitneyShip shipping software. I'd Ship That prints USPS and UPS labels from the phone in your pocket, with no hardware. Pitney Bowes says its meters come with access to shipping software with discounted label rates, so check which rate your own parcel labels print at before you compare anything. - [Ordoro alternative](https://idshipthat.app/alternative/ordoro/): Ordoro sells Shipping, Inventory, and Dropshipping apps that can be used individually or combined. I'd Ship That does shipping only: USPS and UPS rate-shopped on every order, batch printing in The Workbench, and native iOS and Android apps. The break-even is whether you actually use the inventory app. ## International shipping Customs thresholds, duties and service options by destination. - [Cheapest Way to Ship Internationally](https://idshipthat.app/international-shipping/cheapest-way-to-ship-internationally/): Beat dimensional weight, the 4 lb First-Class ceiling, and destination price groups when shipping abroad - [Shipping to Canada](https://idshipthat.app/international-shipping/canada/): USPS and UPS rates to Canada, plus the CUSMA de minimis that decides your buyer's tax bill - [Shipping to the United Kingdom](https://idshipthat.app/international-shipping/united-kingdom/): USPS and UPS rates to the United Kingdom, and the £135 VAT line that decides who collects - [Shipping to Australia](https://idshipthat.app/international-shipping/australia/): USPS and UPS rates to Australia. Also the AUD $1,000 GST line and the biosecurity rules - [Shipping to Mexico](https://idshipthat.app/international-shipping/mexico/): USPS and UPS rates to Mexico. Also the USD $50 tax line, the IVA, and why parcels stall - [Import Duties by Country](https://idshipthat.app/international-shipping/customs-forms-and-duties/): The de minimis thresholds and HS-code math that decide what your buyer pays on delivery - [Shipping to Germany](https://idshipthat.app/international-shipping/germany/): USPS and UPS rates to Germany, plus the IOSS €150 rule and EU VAT from the first euro - [Shipping to Japan](https://idshipthat.app/international-shipping/japan/): USPS and UPS rates to Japan, plus the yen 10,000 de minimis and the 60% personal-use rule ## Shipping glossary Definitions and the condition under which each term applies. - [Dimensional Weight](https://idshipthat.app/glossary/dim-weight/): Dimensional weight, or DIM weight, is a pricing method that calculates a package's billable weight from its dimensions rather than its scale weight. Carriers divide length times width times height in inches by a DIM divisor of 139 and charge the greater of that figure and the actual weight. USPS applies dimensional weight only to packages over 1 cubic foot; UPS and FedEx apply it to all package sizes. [carrier reference only; I'd Ship That sells USPS and UPS labels] - [USPS Cubic Pricing](https://idshipthat.app/glossary/cubic-pricing/): USPS cubic pricing is a commercial rate structure that charges by a package's volume rather than its weight. Priority Mail Cubic covers parcels that measure 0.5 cubic feet or less, in five tiers; Ground Advantage Cubic covers parcels up to 1 cubic foot, in ten tiers. Both require 20 lb or less, and both are only available through commercial pricing on a shipping platform, never at a Post Office counter. For small, dense items it can run 20-40% below weight-based Priority Mail. - [USPS Commercial Plus Pricing (CPP)](https://idshipthat.app/glossary/commercial-plus-pricing/): Commercial Plus Pricing (CPP) was a USPS discount tier for high-volume Priority Mail shippers, priced below Commercial Base. The July 2022 Domestic Mail Manual offered it to customers whose account volume passed 50,000 pieces in the previous calendar year and who had a commitment agreement with USPS. USPS no longer publishes it for domestic Priority Mail: the current price list (Notice 123) shows two domestic columns, Retail and Commercial, and the Domestic Mail Manual describes a single commercial price. - [USPS Ground Advantage](https://idshipthat.app/glossary/ground-advantage/): USPS Ground Advantage is the standard ground service from the United States Postal Service, delivering in 2-5 business days for packages up to 70 lbs. USPS applies it to any parcel within 130 inches of combined length and girth, and every Ground Advantage label includes tracking and up to $100 of insurance at no extra cost. It replaced USPS Retail Ground, Parcel Select Ground, and First-Class Package Service in July 2023. - [Flat Rate Shipping](https://idshipthat.app/glossary/flat-rate-shipping/): Flat rate shipping is a pricing model where a fixed price ships a package regardless of its weight or destination zone, as long as the contents fit in the carrier-supplied box. USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate is the best-known version. Because the price never moves, flat rate saves money on heavy parcels travelling long zones and overcharges on light parcels travelling short ones. - [Zone-Based Pricing](https://idshipthat.app/glossary/zone-based-pricing/): Zone-based pricing is the standard shipping rate structure where cost rises with the distance between the origin and destination ZIP codes. USPS measures zones 1 through 9 from the origin, with zone 1 nearest and zone 9 farthest. UPS and FedEx use zones 2 through 8 domestically. The same package on the same service costs materially different amounts depending only on the zone it travels. [carrier reference only; I'd Ship That sells USPS and UPS labels] - [Shipping Insurance](https://idshipthat.app/glossary/shipping-insurance/): Shipping insurance is coverage that reimburses the declared value of a package if it is lost, stolen, or damaged in transit. It can be bought from the carrier at label creation or from a third-party provider. Several services include a base amount at no extra cost: USPS Ground Advantage includes up to $100, and most FedEx domestic services include $100 of declared value. [carrier reference only; I'd Ship That sells USPS and UPS labels] - [Tracking Number](https://idshipthat.app/glossary/tracking-number/): A tracking number is the unique alphanumeric code a carrier assigns to a package at the moment the shipping label is created. USPS, UPS, and FedEx each issue their own format, and the number is the reference used to confirm delivery, answer a "where is my order" message, and file an insurance or non-delivery claim. It exists before the package is ever handed over, because it is generated by the label, not by the first scan. [carrier reference only; I'd Ship That sells USPS and UPS labels] - [USPS Media Mail](https://idshipthat.app/glossary/media-mail/): USPS Media Mail is a discounted USPS service restricted to books, CDs, DVDs, vinyl records, printed music, and other qualifying educational media. USPS applies a content restriction rather than a weight or size rule, reserves the right to open and inspect any Media Mail parcel, and charges the full standard rate on anything that does not qualify. Delivery runs 2-8 business days, the slowest window USPS offers. - [Signature Confirmation](https://idshipthat.app/glossary/signature-confirmation/): Signature confirmation is an add-on service that requires someone at the delivery address to sign before the carrier will release the package. Carriers apply it at label creation for a per-package fee, and it produces a documented proof of delivery that stands up against porch theft and "item not received" claims. USPS Signature Confirmation is $4.15 on a label bought online ($5.15 at a Post Office counter), UPS Signature Required is $7.70, and FedEx Direct Signature is $7.60. [carrier reference only; I'd Ship That sells USPS and UPS labels] - [Return Label / Return Shipping](https://idshipthat.app/glossary/return-label/): A return label is a prepaid shipping label that lets the recipient of a package send it back to the sender without paying postage at drop-off. Return labels can be included in the original box, emailed when a return is requested, or issued as a QR code the buyer presents at a counter. Pay-on-use labels are only charged when the label is actually scanned into the network. - [Shipping Label](https://idshipthat.app/glossary/shipping-label/): A shipping label is the printed document a carrier reads to route, bill, and track a package. It carries at least two machine-readable barcodes, a human-readable service and destination banner, and a postage indicia proving the label was paid. Every zone on the label maps to a decision a sorting machine or clerk makes in under a second, which is why a print defect becomes a routing failure. - [Customs Form (International Shipping)](https://idshipthat.app/glossary/customs-form/): A customs form is the declaration attached to an international shipment stating what is inside, what it is worth, where it was made, and why it is being sent. Customs authorities in the destination country use it to assess duty, tax, and admissibility. USPS uses PS Form 2976 for small low-value items and PS Form 2976-A for larger or higher-value shipments, carried in a PS Form 2976-E plastic envelope. - [Hazardous Materials Shipping](https://idshipthat.app/glossary/hazmat-shipping/): HAZMAT shipping is the regulated transport of dangerous goods that pose a risk to health, safety, property, or the environment in transit. The category is broader than most sellers expect: lithium batteries, aerosols, perfume, nail polish, flammable liquids, and certain chemicals are all regulated. Much of it must travel by ground rather than by air, and a carrier may add a hazardous-materials fee on top of the base rate. - [Package Tracking](https://idshipthat.app/glossary/package-tracking/): Package tracking is the timestamped chain of barcode scans a carrier records as a shipment moves through its network. The skill is triage rather than reading: knowing which statuses are routine, which mean a package is genuinely stuck, and the specific day each carrier allows an escalation from watching to filing a search or a claim. - [Shipment Confirmation Acceptance Notice](https://idshipthat.app/glossary/scan-form/): A SCAN Form, formally a Shipment Confirmation Acceptance Notice, is a single USPS document carrying one master barcode that represents every package in a shipment. When a clerk or carrier scans that barcode, USPS records Shipment Accepted on every tracking number the form lists at once. USPS scans the form in place of each parcel. - [Peak & Demand Surcharges](https://idshipthat.app/glossary/peak-surcharge/): A peak surcharge is a temporary seasonal fee that carriers add during the holiday window, running roughly early October through mid-January. UPS and FedEx apply it on top of the base rate and on top of any per-package accessorial the shipment already triggers, so one oversized holiday parcel can carry a base rate, an additional-handling fee, a large-package fee, and a peak version of each at the same time. [carrier reference only; I'd Ship That sells USPS and UPS labels] - [Residential Delivery Surcharge](https://idshipthat.app/glossary/residential-surcharge/): A residential surcharge is a per-package fee UPS and FedEx add when a delivery address is classified as a home rather than a business. Residential routes have fewer stops per mile, so carriers price them higher. The carrier makes the classification itself from its own address database, which means a home office or a small commercial unit can be billed residential regardless of how the shipper labels it. [carrier reference only; I'd Ship That sells USPS and UPS labels] - [Harmonized System Code](https://idshipthat.app/glossary/harmonized-code/): An HS code, short for Harmonized System code, is the standardized numerical classification that tells customs authorities exactly what a product is. It is maintained by the World Customs Organization and used by most countries, and it determines the duty rate, the tax treatment, and any import restriction applied to the shipment at the border. - [International Commercial Terms](https://idshipthat.app/glossary/incoterms/): Incoterms, short for International Commercial Terms, are standardized trade terms published by the International Chamber of Commerce that define what a buyer and a seller each owe on an international transaction. They specify who arranges and pays for carriage, who covers duty and tax, and the point at which risk for the goods transfers from the seller to the buyer. - [Delivered Duty Paid vs Delivered Duty Unpaid](https://idshipthat.app/glossary/ddp-vs-ddu/): DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) and DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid) are delivery terms that decide who pays import duties and taxes on an international shipment. Under DDP the seller prepays duty and tax, so the buyer owes nothing when the parcel arrives. Under DDU the buyer is billed by the carrier and must pay before the package is released. Current Incoterms use DAP in place of the informal DDU label. - [Billable Weight](https://idshipthat.app/glossary/billable-weight/): Billable weight is the figure a carrier prices a shipment on: the greater of the package's actual scale weight and its dimensional weight. Dimensional weight is length times width times height divided by the carrier's DIM divisor, rounded up. When a box is large but light, the dimensional figure exceeds the scale figure and the carrier bills the larger of the two. - [Package Girth](https://idshipthat.app/glossary/girth/): Girth is the distance around the thickest part of a package, measured perpendicular to its longest side, and it is calculated as twice the width plus twice the height. Carriers add length to girth to decide whether a parcel is oversized. USPS accepts parcels up to 130 inches of combined length and girth, and UPS and FedEx apply their own oversize thresholds above which a large-package fee applies. [carrier reference only; I'd Ship That sells USPS and UPS labels] - [USPS Certified Mail](https://idshipthat.app/glossary/certified-mail/): USPS Certified Mail is a service that produces a dated mailing receipt and an electronic delivery record for a letter or document, with an optional signature on receipt. USPS applies it to First-Class Mail and Priority Mail items, and it exists to prove that something was sent and delivered, not to move it faster. A return receipt can be added to obtain the recipient signature as a separate record. - [USPS Registered Mail](https://idshipthat.app/glossary/registered-mail/): USPS Registered Mail is the most secure service USPS offers. Each item is kept under lock and signed for at every transfer point, producing a documented chain of custody from acceptance to delivery. USPS applies it to First-Class Mail and Priority Mail items, and because every handoff is logged individually it travels more slowly than ordinary mail. - [USPS Informed Delivery](https://idshipthat.app/glossary/informed-delivery/): USPS Informed Delivery is a free USPS service that emails a recipient grayscale images of letter mail arriving that day and a list of expected packages. The recipient enrolls, not the sender, and enrollment is tied to a verified residential or business address. It changes the shipper's position because the buyer can see an inbound parcel before any dispatch email arrives. - [USPS Package Intercept](https://idshipthat.app/glossary/package-intercept/): USPS Package Intercept is a paid USPS service that lets the sender, or an authorized representative, request that a package be redirected, returned to sender, or held for pickup after it has entered the mail stream but before it is delivered. USPS charges a $19.45 Package Intercept fee only if the intercept succeeds, plus any new postage for the redirected route. USPS applies it only to items carrying a trackable or extra-services barcode, and it is an attempt rather than a guarantee: once the package is out for final delivery, the request will usually fail. - [Postage Due (USPS APV Adjustment)](https://idshipthat.app/glossary/postage-due/): Postage due on a modern USPS shipment is a charge for the gap between the postage you paid and the postage the package actually required. USPS reweighs and remeasures parcels automatically in processing, and when the real weight, dimensions, or zone demand more than the label declared, USPS bills the difference. The same system issues a refund when the label was overpaid, so postage due is a correction rather than a penalty. - [USPS Regional Rate Boxes (Discontinued 2023)](https://idshipthat.app/glossary/regional-rate/): USPS Regional Rate Boxes were a Priority Mail packaging line, Box A and Box B, priced by shipping zone and box size instead of by weight. USPS discontinued them on January 22, 2023, and they are no longer supplied. A box still in stock can be mailed, but USPS prices it by weight and zone like an ordinary package. Box A held up to 15 lb and Box B up to 20 lb, both supplied free by USPS. The replacement USPS recommended is Priority Mail Cubic on parcels of 0.5 cubic feet or less; Ground Advantage Cubic reaches 1 cubic foot, with weight-based USPS Ground Advantage for anything larger. - [USPS Automated Package Verification](https://idshipthat.app/glossary/automated-package-verification/): USPS Automated Package Verification (APV) is the system that reweighs and remeasures parcels as they move through USPS processing and corrects the postage against what the label declared. When a parcel needed more postage, USPS charges the difference; when the label overpaid, USPS issues a refund. The check happens in transit, which is why the adjustment can post after the package has already been delivered. - [Fuel Surcharge](https://idshipthat.app/glossary/fuel-surcharge/): A fuel surcharge is a percentage that UPS and FedEx add on top of the base transportation charge, recalculated every week against a published fuel index. Because it is a percentage rather than a flat fee, it costs more on expensive shipments than on cheap ones. USPS does not apply a separate fuel surcharge line, so a USPS quote for the same lane does not move week to week. [carrier reference only; I'd Ship That sells USPS and UPS labels] - [Additional Handling Surcharge (AHS)](https://idshipthat.app/glossary/additional-handling-surcharge/): An additional handling surcharge is a UPS and FedEx fee for packages that cannot run through automated sortation because of their length, weight, shape, or packaging. It is triggered by any one of several conditions rather than by weight alone, and when a parcel meets more than one, carriers charge the largest applicable fee rather than stacking them. [carrier reference only; I'd Ship That sells USPS and UPS labels] ## Compliance - [HAZMAT shipping guide](https://idshipthat.app/shipping-hazmat/) ## Store integrations What each marketplace connection reads from the store and writes back to it. - [Store integrations](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/): Which platforms connect, and what a connection does. - [eBay integration](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/ebay/): Paid eBay orders land in one grid, USPS and UPS are priced per order, and tracking posts back to eBay the moment the label is bought. - [Shopify integration](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/shopify/): Early access. Unfulfilled orders in, USPS and UPS labels out, and the fulfillment written back with tracking. - [WooCommerce integration](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/woocommerce/): Early access. Processing orders show up on their own, and buying the label marks each one Completed with its tracking, with nothing installed on your site. ## Seller questions, by platform Answer-first guides to marketplace shipping, tracking and fulfilment questions. - [Why is my eBay late shipment rate high if I shipped on time?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/ebay/ebay-late-shipment-rate-vs-tracking-uploaded/): eBay counts a shipment late when the delivery scan lands after the latest estimated delivery date and no carrier scan happened inside your handling time. Buying the label is not the event eBay measures, the first carrier scan is. A label printed on time and scanned the next morning can still read as late. - [When does eBay handling time start and stop?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/ebay/ebay-handling-time-explained/): Handling time starts when you receive payment for the item and ends when your package is scanned by the carrier. It is measured in business days, with Saturdays and Sundays optional, so a 1-day handling time on a Monday order means a carrier scan by Tuesday at 11:59pm. Printing the label does not stop the clock. - [How do I upload tracking to eBay so it counts on time?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/ebay/upload-tracking-to-ebay/): In Seller Hub open Orders, find the order under Paid and shipped, select Add tracking number, choose the carrier and save. eBay marks the order Shipped and emails the buyer. It counts as on time only when the carrier is one eBay integrates with and the carrier scan lands inside your handling time. - [How do I get an acceptance scan the day I ship?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/ebay/ebay-acceptance-scan-same-day/): Hand the parcels to a carrier while the counter or the route is still running, or print a USPS SCAN form so one master barcode records acceptance for the whole batch. Anything left in a mailbox or dropped after the last collection is scanned the next business day. eBay reads the scan date, not the label date. - [What handling time should I set on eBay?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/ebay/what-handling-time-to-set-on-ebay/): Set the shortest handling time you can hit on your worst day, not your best. eBay recommends no more than 2 days and measures the window in business days from payment to the first carrier scan, so 1-day handling on a Monday order means a scan by Tuesday at 11:59pm. - [Which carriers does eBay accept tracking from?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/ebay/ebay-integrated-carriers-tracking/): eBay accepts tracking from any carrier on its integrated carrier list, which is what the carrier dropdown shows when you add tracking to an order. For item not received protection the number must come from an integrated carrier and show an acceptance scan. USPS and UPS are both on the list. - [Can I mark an eBay order shipped without tracking?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/ebay/mark-ebay-order-shipped-without-tracking/): Yes. Seller Hub lets you mark a paid order shipped by hand, and the buyer sees it as Shipped. With no tracking there is no acceptance scan and no delivery record, so the transaction cannot support a late shipment appeal or an item not received defence. - [Does tracking protect me from an eBay item not received case?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/ebay/ebay-tracking-item-not-received-protection/): Only if it passes eBay's evidence test. eBay asks for a tracking number from an integrated carrier, uploaded to eBay, showing a shipping scan before the latest estimated delivery date and a delivered or attempted delivery status with the date. The delivery zip has to match the order, and orders totalling $750 or more need signature confirmation. - [What are the eBay Top Rated Seller requirements?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/ebay/ebay-top-rated-seller-requirements/): Top Rated Seller has four performance thresholds: late shipment rate, tracking uploaded within handling time, transaction defect rate, and cases closed without seller resolution. You also need an account at least 90 days old plus 100 transactions and $1,000 in sales with US buyers over 12 months. eBay evaluates the status on the 20th of each month. - [Can I ship an eBay order with a label bought elsewhere?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/ebay/ship-ebay-order-with-your-own-label/): Yes. eBay does not require you to buy the label on eBay, so buy the USPS or UPS label wherever you like. Add the tracking number and carrier to the order in Seller Hub so the buyer gets the tracking email and the upload counts toward your seller standards. - [How do I combine eBay orders from the same buyer?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/ebay/combine-ebay-orders-same-buyer/): If the buyer has not paid, set combined shipping rules in Shipping Preferences, enable combined invoices, then select the orders and send one invoice. If they already paid separately, ship the items together and return the shipping difference as a partial refund. Each eBay order still needs tracking, so put the same number on every order in the box. - [Two paid eBay orders, one box: how do I ship and track it?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/ebay/one-box-two-paid-ebay-orders/): Buy one label for the box, then upload that same tracking number to both eBay orders so each is marked Shipped and each carries a carrier scan. Because both orders are already paid, refund the duplicated shipping as a partial refund on one of them. eBay's bulk shipping tool can combine the label for you. - [How do I print labels for many eBay orders at once?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/ebay/bulk-print-ebay-shipping-labels/): In Seller Hub, open the Orders tab, tick the boxes beside two or more orders, then choose Purchase Shipping Labels from the Shipping dropdown. That opens eBay's bulk shipping tool, where you edit each order before paying once and printing every label. Tracking from an eBay label uploads to each order automatically. - [eBay International Shipping: which label do I buy?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/ebay/ebay-international-shipping-which-label/): You buy a standard domestic US label to the hub address eBay puts on the order. eBay International Shipping, which replaced the Global Shipping Program, has you ship inside the US to eBay's hub, and eBay is exporter of record from there. eBay collects import charges at checkout and handles customs and the international leg. - [How do I see which eBay orders must ship today?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/ebay/ebay-orders-due-to-ship-today/): Open Seller Hub, go to the Orders tab and filter to Awaiting shipment, which lists the orders that are paid but not shipped. Each row shows a ship by date, and anything dated today needs a carrier scan before the day ends. That date comes from your handling time, counted in business days from when the buyer paid. - [How many tracking numbers can one eBay order have?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/ebay/multiple-tracking-numbers-one-ebay-order/): Up to 6 tracking numbers per order. You add them in Seller Hub under Dispatch, or in My eBay from More actions, and each one you save emails the buyer the tracking details. Use several numbers when one order leaves in more than one box. - [Can I add tracking numbers to Shopify orders in bulk?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/shopify/bulk-add-tracking-numbers-shopify/): Not with Shopify's own bulk action. Selecting orders and choosing Mark as fulfilled moves them to Fulfilled with no tracking field, and Shopify tells you to add tracking numbers manually afterwards. To get tracking onto many orders at once, fulfill them from wherever you buy the labels, so each number is written as the label is created. - [How do I mark a Shopify order fulfilled with tracking?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/shopify/mark-shopify-order-fulfilled-with-tracking/): Open the order, click Mark as fulfilled, and put the number in the Tracking number field. Shopify may detect the carrier from the format, and you can override it or choose Other and paste a full tracking URL. Confirm, and the order becomes Fulfilled with the number carried into the shipping confirmation email. - [What is a fulfillment order in Shopify?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/shopify/shopify-fulfillment-order-vs-order/): A fulfillment order is Shopify's record of what has to be fulfilled, by which location, for one order. The order is what the customer bought, and the fulfillment order is the work, so one order can have several, one per assigned location. Apps and the admin act on fulfillment orders, not on the order itself. - [How do I ship part of a Shopify order in two boxes?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/shopify/partially-fulfill-shopify-order/): Fulfill the order twice. On the first pass, enter the item quantities you are shipping now, add that box's tracking number, and confirm: the order becomes Partially fulfilled and the rest stays in the Unfulfilled section. When the second box goes out, fulfill the remaining quantities with their own tracking number, and the order moves to Fulfilled. - [Why is my Shopify order assigned to the wrong location?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/shopify/shopify-order-assigned-wrong-location/): Shopify assigns each order to a location at checkout using your order routing rules and the inventory available at each location, not the address you print from. If the nearer location was short one item, or ranks lower in your rules, the whole job goes elsewhere. Move the fulfillment order while work has not started. - [Which email does my Shopify customer get when I add tracking?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/shopify/shopify-shipping-confirmation-vs-update-email/): Add the tracking number while marking the order fulfilled and the customer gets the shipping confirmation, which Shopify sends when an order is fulfilled. Add or correct the number after the order is already fulfilled and they get the shipping update, sent when tracking information changes. Fulfilling without tracking and adding it later sends both. - [Can I buy shipping labels for Shopify outside Shopify Shipping?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/shopify/third-party-shipping-labels-shopify/): Yes. Shopify's fulfillment screen asks for a tracking number from your shipping provider and lets you pick the carrier yourself, so the label can come from anywhere. Apps that fulfill orders on behalf of merchants create the same fulfillment record through Shopify's API, with tracking attached, which is what keeps the order status page and the customer emails correct. - [How do I fulfill a Shopify order without emailing the customer?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/shopify/fulfill-shopify-order-without-notifying-customer/): Uncheck Send a notification to the customer on the fulfillment screen before you confirm. The order is still marked Fulfilled, the tracking number is still recorded and the customer can still see it on the order status page, but no shipping confirmation email is sent at that moment. The same checkbox exists on the bulk Mark as fulfilled action. - [What do on hold, in progress and scheduled mean on a Shopify order?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/shopify/shopify-order-on-hold-in-progress-scheduled/): They are fulfillment statuses meaning the work is not finished. On hold means you or an app blocked fulfillment until the hold is released, In progress means the order is being picked and packed, and Scheduled means a prepaid subscription order is waiting for its date. Held and scheduled orders are excluded from bulk status changes. - [Why is my Shopify tracking link not clickable?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/shopify/shopify-tracking-link-not-working/): Shopify builds the link from the carrier attached to the fulfillment, so a number saved with no carrier, or with the wrong one, has nothing to link to. Pick the carrier from the list on the fulfillment, or choose Other and enter the full tracking URL provided by your carrier. Clickable tracking links are then generated automatically for your customers. - [What permissions does a shipping app need on Shopify?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/shopify/shopify-shipping-app-permissions/): A shipping app needs to read orders, act on the fulfillment orders assigned to your own locations, and read your locations. Products and inventory are added when it reads weights or adjusts stock. Access to buyer name, address, phone and email is separate: Shopify reviews and approves that for the app. - [How do I ship Shopify orders from more than one location?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/shopify/ship-shopify-orders-from-multiple-locations/): Shopify assigns each order to a location using your order routing configuration and available inventory, then creates one fulfillment order per assigned location. You fulfill each one where its items are, so a split order produces two fulfillments with their own tracking numbers. Move a fulfillment order to another location when the assignment is wrong and work has not begun. - [How do I print packing slips for Shopify orders?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/shopify/print-packing-slips-shopify-orders/): Shopify prints packing slips from the admin, and its help pages say you can print them for your orders individually or in bulk. For branded templates, the Shopify Order Printer app creates invoices, packing slips, pick lists and other documents. Printing is not fulfilling, so tracking is still a separate step on the order. - [How do I change a tracking number on a fulfilled Shopify order?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/shopify/edit-tracking-number-shopify-after-fulfillment/): Open the order, go to the Fulfilled section, choose Add tracking, correct the number and carrier, and save. Shopify sends a shipping update rather than a second shipping confirmation, and you can clear Send a notification to the customer if you do not want that email. The corrected number is what the order carries from then on. - [How do I ship all my unfulfilled Shopify orders in one place?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/shopify/ship-all-unfulfilled-shopify-orders/): The Unfulfilled tab on the Orders page is the list, and Shopify's own bulk action can mark that selection fulfilled. It does not take tracking numbers, and orders on hold or scheduled for a future date are left out of bulk status changes. Buying the labels from one queue puts the tracking on each order as it goes. - [How do I create WooCommerce REST API keys?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/woocommerce/create-woocommerce-rest-api-keys/): Go to WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced > REST API in WP admin and select Add Key. Enter a description, pick the WordPress user the key acts as, set Permissions to Read/Write, and select Generate API Key. The consumer secret is shown only once, so copy it before you leave the page. - [Why does /wp-json/ return 404 rest_no_route?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/woocommerce/wp-json-404-rest-no-route/): The route was not registered at the path you used, and on a WooCommerce store the usual cause is permalinks. WordPress serves the REST API at /wp-json/ only when permalinks are set to something other than Plain. Re-save Settings > Permalinks and retry, and while permalinks are Plain the query form ?rest_route=/wc/v3/ reaches the same API. - [Why does my WooCommerce API key return 401?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/woocommerce/woocommerce-api-key-401-consumer-key-missing/): Over HTTPS the WooCommerce REST API takes basic auth: consumer key as username, consumer secret as password. When the server does not pass that header to PHP, WooCommerce sees no credentials and reports that the consumer key is missing, which is not a bad key. Pass the Authorization header through, or send key and secret as query parameters. - [How do I add a tracking number to a WooCommerce order?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/woocommerce/add-tracking-number-woocommerce-order/): Open the order in WP admin and put the number where the customer can see it. The Shipment Tracking extension adds provider, number and link to the order, and surfaces them on the My Account order page and in order emails. Without it, use a note to the customer, or an app that writes tracking meta over the REST API. - [When should a WooCommerce order be marked completed?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/woocommerce/woocommerce-processing-vs-completed/): Mark it completed when the order is fulfilled, which for a shipping store means the label exists and the package is going out. WooCommerce defines processing as payment received and stock reduced, awaiting fulfilment, and completed as fulfilled and complete. Completed is also the status change that triggers the customer email, so setting it early tells the buyer something untrue. - [Does WooCommerce email my customer when I add tracking?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/woocommerce/woocommerce-note-to-customer-tracking-email/): Not for the tracking itself. Saving tracking details on an order sends no email, because the customer email fires when the status changes to Completed. A note to customer is the other route: over the REST API, a note with customer_note set to true is shown to customers and notifies them, while a private note stays internal. - [Does a shipping app need a plugin on my WooCommerce site?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/woocommerce/woocommerce-shipping-app-without-plugin/): It does not have to. WooCommerce exposes a REST API at /wp-json/wc/v3/, so an outside app can read orders and update them using a consumer key and secret you generate in WP admin. I'd Ship That connects that way: site URL plus a Read/Write key, with nothing added to your WordPress install and access revoked from your own settings screen. - [How often does a shipping app pull new WooCommerce orders?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/woocommerce/how-often-woocommerce-orders-sync/): I'd Ship That for WooCommerce polls your store's REST API on a schedule, every 10 to 15 minutes, so a paid order reaches The Workbench inside that window rather than the moment the buyer checks out. WooCommerce does offer webhooks at WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced > Webhooks, but our WooCommerce connection does not use them. - [Why are WooCommerce orders completing before I ship them?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/woocommerce/woocommerce-orders-auto-completing/): Usually it is the cart, not a bug. WooCommerce's own status guide says all orders require processing except those in which all products are both virtual and downloadable, so a downloads only order never waits in Processing. Payment gateways and any automation you added can also set a status, so check what was actually on the order. - [Will HPOS break my WooCommerce shipping setup?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/woocommerce/woocommerce-hpos-shipping/): Not by itself. High Performance Order Storage moves orders into four dedicated tables and uses WooCommerce's own CRUD design instead of the posts tables. What needs attention is installed code that reads order data directly: WooCommerce disables the toggle for extensions that are not compatible, and a connection talking to the REST API is not reading those tables anyway. - [How do I see which WooCommerce orders still need shipping?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/woocommerce/woocommerce-orders-that-need-shipping/): Filter the Orders list by status. Processing means payment received and stock reduced, awaiting fulfilment, so the Processing link above the orders table is your shipping queue. Add On hold only if you ship before payment is confirmed, and leave Pending payment out of it, because those orders have not been paid. - [Can I ship a WooCommerce order to a non-billing address?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/woocommerce/woocommerce-shipping-address-vs-billing/): Yes. A WooCommerce order carries a billing address and a shipping address as separate sets of fields, and the label should go to the shipping address whenever one is present. If the shipping address is empty, your store is set to ship to the billing address, and that is the only address the order has. - [How do I print USPS labels for WooCommerce orders?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/woocommerce/print-usps-labels-woocommerce-orders/): WooCommerce publishes its own WooCommerce Shipping extension, which prints USPS and UPS labels from your dashboard. The other route is a shipping app connected over the WooCommerce REST API, which puts several stores in one queue and prices USPS and UPS against the same box. Both write the tracking number back to the order. - [How do I bulk complete WooCommerce orders with tracking?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/woocommerce/bulk-complete-woocommerce-orders-with-tracking/): WooCommerce's bulk actions on the Orders screen change status and nothing else. Change status to Completed moves the whole selection, but no bulk action attaches a tracking number, so the customer email goes out with nothing to follow. Tracking has to be written per order, which is what a REST API connection does as each label is bought. - [How do I print packing slips for WooCommerce orders?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/woocommerce/print-packing-slips-woocommerce/): WooCommerce core has no packing slip document. Its order management screens cover statuses, editing and bulk actions, and printing paperwork is not among them. The two working routes are an extension that adds slips inside WP admin, or a shipping app that generates packing slips and pick lists for the orders it pulled from your store. - [How do I upload tracking numbers in bulk?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/upload-tracking-numbers-in-bulk/): Each store has its own bulk path: eBay adds tracking to selected orders in Seller Hub, Shopify makes you fulfil first and add tracking afterwards, and WooCommerce keeps tracking in order meta. A spreadsheet paste works until one carrier name or order id is wrong, then fails quietly. Tracking written back when the label is bought skips the step. - [What is the difference between a pick list and a packing slip?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/pick-list-vs-packing-slip/): A pick list is internal: one sheet covering many orders, grouped by item, used to pull stock in a single pass. A packing slip is the buyer's copy, one per order, listing what is in that box and travelling inside the parcel. Print the pick list first, then pack each order against its slip. - [Why was I charged extra after I already paid for the label?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/charged-extra-after-buying-shipping-label/): The carrier weighed and measured the parcel after it entered the network and found it did not match the label. USPS calls this automated postage verification and debits or credits the shipper directly; UPS bills the greater of actual and dimensional weight. It is a separate charge, usually days after the parcel moved. - [How do I know which orders are due to ship today?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/which-orders-are-due-to-ship-today/): An order is due today when the store's clock on it ends today. eBay counts handling time in business days from payment to the carrier scan, Shopify's open fulfillment orders are the ones still owed, and WooCommerce's processing list is paid and awaiting fulfilment. Sort by deadline, not by order date. - [What is a USPS SCAN form and do I need one?](https://idshipthat.app/integrations/usps-scan-form-do-i-need-one/): A USPS SCAN form is PS Form 5630, the Shipment Confirmation Acceptance Notice. It carries one master barcode for every package in a shipment, and USPS scans that barcode, not each parcel, to enter all of them in USPS Tracking as Shipment Accepted. It is worth having when you hand over a stack of prepaid parcels, as long as you treat it as a record that the batch was accepted and keep your own record of what was in it. ## Marketplace how-tos Step-by-step tasks inside each marketplace, checked against the marketplace's own help pages. - [Marketplace how-tos](https://idshipthat.app/how-to/): Every marketplace task, grouped by platform. - [How to add tracking to an Amazon FBM order](https://idshipthat.app/how-to/amazon-fbm/add-tracking-to-an-amazon-order/): The order is confirmed as shipped in Seller Central, carrying the carrier, service and tracking number from the label you bought. - [How to ship an Amazon order with an unlisted carrier](https://idshipthat.app/how-to/amazon-fbm/ship-with-an-unlisted-carrier/): The order is confirmed as shipped under the carrier Other, with the carrier's real name recorded alongside the tracking number. - [How to keep Amazon Valid Tracking Rate above 95%](https://idshipthat.app/how-to/amazon-fbm/keep-valid-tracking-rate-above-95/): Every order you confirm carries a tracking number Amazon can validate, so Valid Tracking Rate stays above the 95% Amazon requires. - [How to confirm Amazon shipments on time](https://idshipthat.app/how-to/amazon-fbm/confirm-amazon-shipments-on-time/): The parcel is in the carrier's hands the day you say it is, and the order is confirmed inside your stated handling time. - [How to mark a Big Cartel order shipped](https://idshipthat.app/how-to/big-cartel/mark-a-big-cartel-order-shipped/): The order shows as shipped in your Big Cartel admin, with your tracking number, a tracking link and the carrier saved against it. - [How to email Big Cartel tracking to a buyer](https://idshipthat.app/how-to/big-cartel/email-big-cartel-tracking-to-a-customer/): Your customer has an email in your store's branding listing the items that shipped and the tracking link that follows them. - [How to split a Big Cartel shipment](https://idshipthat.app/how-to/big-cartel/split-a-big-cartel-shipment/): Part of the order is marked shipped with its own tracking number, the rest is still outstanding, and the buyer knows which is which. - [How to bulk mark Big Cartel orders shipped](https://idshipthat.app/how-to/big-cartel/bulk-mark-big-cartel-orders-shipped/): Every order you selected shows as shipped, with one notification decision covering the batch. - [How to export Big Cartel orders to CSV](https://idshipthat.app/how-to/big-cartel/export-big-cartel-orders/): You will have a CSV of the Big Cartel orders you chose, scoped by the tab you exported from. - [How to undo a Big Cartel shipment](https://idshipthat.app/how-to/big-cartel/undo-a-big-cartel-shipment/): The order is back in the Unshipped queue with its shipping details cleared, ready for the correct tracking number. - [How to ship a Depop order with your own label](https://idshipthat.app/how-to/depop/own-label/): The listing is on your own shipping, the parcel goes out on a tracked service, and the number is on the receipt inside Depop's 10 day limit. - [How to mark a Depop order shipped](https://idshipthat.app/how-to/depop/mark-as-shipped/): The order shows as shipped and the tracking number is on the receipt the buyer reads. - [How to avoid a Depop 10 day auto-cancel](https://idshipthat.app/how-to/depop/avoid-auto-cancel/): Tracking is on the receipt well inside 10 days of the sale, so the order cannot be cancelled out from under you. -
