Our commitment

We want everyone who ships with us to be able to read, navigate and use this site, whatever device or assistive technology they rely on. We build idshipthat.app to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, the standard referenced by courts and regulators in the United States, and we measure every page against it.

Accessibility is part of how we design and build, not a separate pass at the end. Keyboard behaviour, focus indicators, colour contrast, landmark structure and motion preferences are decided once and applied consistently across the whole site, and an automated accessibility check runs on every release before it can go live. When we ship a design change, we re-check the pages it touched.

What this site does today

• Every page declares its language, has exactly one h1, and places its content in header, nav, main and footer landmarks so screen-reader users can move by region.
• A “Skip to main content” link is the first thing keyboard focus reaches.
• All interactive controls, including menus, FAQ accordions, tabbed comparisons, the calculators and the cookie banner, are operable by keyboard alone and show a visible focus outline. Tabbed controls follow the WAI-ARIA tab pattern, including arrow-key navigation.
• Text and interface colours meet or exceed the 4.5:1 contrast ratio, and graphical indicators meet 3:1, in both the light and the dark theme. We verify these ratios by computation, not by eye.
• Images carry alternative text, data graphics carry a spoken description, and decorative icons are hidden from screen readers rather than read out as noise.
• Every animation is suppressed when your system asks for reduced motion, and every graphic renders in its finished state without motion or scripting.
• Data tables carry proper column and row headers, and tables that are wider than a phone screen scroll rather than collapse.
• Form fields are labelled, and results that update in place are announced.

Where we are still working

We would rather be specific about what is not finished than claim conformance we have not verified. Each item below is on our roadmap.

• The app itself. The shipping application at app.idshipthat.app and the iOS and Android apps are being reviewed against WCAG 2.1 AA as a separate, ongoing effort and are not yet covered by the statement above. If you hit a barrier there, the contact route below is the fastest way to get help with any task you cannot complete.
• Our blog. Articles under /blog/ share this site’s design system and consent layer, and we are bringing them up to the same standard as the rest of the site.
• Third-party content. Advertising served by Google and embedded content we do not author are outside our control, and we cannot guarantee their accessibility.
• Assistive-technology testing. Our current process combines automated checks with manual keyboard and structure review. A full evaluation with screen readers and other assistive technology by an independent party is planned, and its findings will be published here.

Tell us about a barrier

If any part of this site or our apps is difficult or impossible for you to use, email support@idshipthat.app with “Accessibility” in the subject line. It helps to know the page or screen, what you were trying to do, and the browser or assistive technology you use, but none of that is required, and we will not turn a report away for missing it.

We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within 5 business days and to tell you either when it will be fixed or how we can help you complete the task in the meantime. If we cannot make something accessible, we will say so and offer an alternative way to get it done. Reports from real users are the most valuable input we get, and several of the items listed above started as one.

This statement

Last reviewed on September 3, 2026. We revisit it whenever the site changes in a way that affects accessibility, and at least every quarter. It describes a partially conformant site: the pages of idshipthat.app target WCAG 2.1 Level AA, and the items under “Where we are still working” are the parts we know do not meet it yet.
