The Pro plan

Pro is optional. It costs $14.99 a month or $99.99 a year, and eligible new subscribers start with a 7-day free trial. When you connect a store through the Shopify App Store, your account is set to be billed through Shopify, unless you already have a Pro subscription billed by card or through the Apple App Store or Google Play, which keeps its existing billing. If your account is billed through Shopify, Pro bought on the web is billed through Shopify. Otherwise you pay by card on the web, or through the Apple App Store or Google Play when you subscribe in the iOS or Android app.

Pro renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. Cancel through the same place you subscribed, at least 24 hours before it renews.

What a label costs

You pay the postage at the rate shown before you buy the label. On the free Starter plan, each label adds a platform fee of about 10% of the postage, rounded to the nearest $0.25, at least $0.50 and at most $2.50. Labels with postage of $2.00 or less carry no platform fee, and Pro labels carry none at all.

Package Protection is optional. It is $1.00 per $100 of coverage on Starter and $0.85 per $100 of coverage on Pro, and it is added to the label’s price when you choose it. You are covered for the amount you enter; the price counts any part of $100 as a full $100, so $150 of coverage is priced like $200.

Advanced Tracking is an optional add-on that sends your recipient delivery updates. On Starter it is charged per label, at the price shown before you add it; it is included with Pro.

Scheduling a USPS Carrier Pickup is free. A UPS On-Call Pickup® carries the fee UPS sets for it, which is shown before you book and is charged to your I’d Ship That balance.

A UPS return label works differently from an outbound label: you are only charged if your customer actually ships the return, and unused return labels are free. The return postage is taken from your I’d Ship That balance when UPS first scans the package, so it is charged after the label is created rather than before. With your own UPS account connected, UPS bills the return to that account under your UPS terms instead.

Accounts with repeated carrier adjustments or other policy issues may be charged a risk fee per label, as section 9.1 of the Terms describes. When it applies, it is included in the label’s price shown before you buy. Any amount you already owe, such as an unpaid adjustment, is also added to your next label’s price.

If you connect your own UPS account, UPS bills the postage for those labels to your UPS account under your UPS terms. On those labels the only charge paid to I’d Ship That is Package Protection, if you add it, and it can only be paid from your balance, not by card. No platform fee, Advanced Tracking charge, risk fee or amount owed is added to them.

How you pay

You can pay for a label from your I’d Ship That balance or by card. Prices shown for card payment include the cost of card processing. Paying from your balance costs less. The difference is a price difference, not a separate surcharge, and it is the same whatever type of card you use.

You can load your balance by card or, where bank account payments are available, by bank transfer. Loading by card adds a processing fee, shown before you confirm. Bank transfer top-ups have no fee.

Businesses we have approved can use Pay as you go, where labels are bought on account and what is owed is collected by a bank debit no more than once per business day. Bank debits follow the authorization you accept in the app and section 9.4 of the Terms.

If your bank returns a debit, for example for insufficient funds, any amount added to your balance for it is removed again. If you have already spent it, your balance becomes negative, which is an amount you owe; later top-ups are applied to it first. There is no separate fee for a returned debit.

Carrier adjustments

After a package ships, the carrier can assess a charge, for example when the actual weight or dimensions differ from the label, or for an address correction. Carrier adjustments are passed through to your account at the amount assessed by the carrier.

Each adjustment that results in a charge also carries a $1.50 Adjustment Processing Fee, shown as its own line in your transaction history. Your account’s first adjustment is not charged the fee, the fee does not apply when the carrier’s adjustment is under $1.00, and carrier refunds or credits never carry it.

Your balance

  • It is a prepaid amount you load to pay for labels, adjustments and fees, in US dollars.
  • It never expires, and no dormancy, inactivity or maintenance fee is ever taken from it.
  • It is refundable when you close your account, less any amounts you owe.
