How to fix tracking info on a Reverb order
The Reverb order carries the tracking number from the label that is actually moving, and the buyer sees the same one.
Checked against Reverb: How do I change my shipping label information? on September 13, 2026.
Before you start
- The label that is really on the parcel, with its tracking number.
- Seller access to the order in Reverb.
- A web browser if you also need to cancel a Reverb label, which Reverb limits to the web.
Steps
-
Open the order in Reverb
In your Reverb account, go to Orders and open the order with the wrong number on it.
You should see the order with its Shipping Details section.
-
Select Edit Tracking Info under Shipping Details
In the Shipping Details section, select Edit Tracking Info.
You should see the provider and number you entered before, open for changes.
-
Set the Shipping Provider to the carrier that has the parcel
Change the Shipping Provider if the parcel went out with a different carrier than you first recorded.
You should see a provider that matches the number you are about to enter.
-
Replace the tracking number
Enter the number from the label that is on the parcel, then commit the change.
You should see one tracking number under Shipping Details, matching your label.
-
Check the number at the carrier
Paste the corrected number into the carrier's own tracking page.
You should see scans against that number, which is what stops the order reading as unknown.
If it goes wrong
- The Reverb label has already been scanned
Reverb states that "a label that has already been scanned cannot be reused". Buy fresh postage for that parcel and put the new number on the order.
- Cancel Label is missing
Cancelling a Reverb label is limited to US sellers on the web, and only before the label is scanned. On a phone, or after the first scan, the option is not there to find.
- The status still reads unknown after the edit
Reverb treats an unknown status as the thing to fix, since it "is essential to receiving your payout". If the carrier shows no scans against a number you have checked twice, the parcel has not been accepted yet.
What happens next
Reverb publishes no edit window for tracking, which is unusual and is not the same as unlimited: the buyer can open a case, and Reverb Protection depends on the shipment record being right. Keep one number per order rather than stacking a second one on top, and leave the corrected number alone once the carrier starts scanning it.
Reprint without a second guess
When a parcel needs new postage, our app prices USPS and UPS for the packed weight and hands you the label and its tracking number together, so there is one number to paste into Edit Tracking Info.
