How to get your Reverb payout released
The Reverb order carries a tracking number the carrier is actually scanning, which is the condition Reverb puts on your payout.
Checked against Reverb: How to enter tracking information on an order on September 13, 2026.
Before you start
- The order in Reverb and the label receipt from the carrier.
- The carrier's own tracking page open in another tab.
- The sale date, so you can check it against Reverb's shipping window.
Steps
-
Hand the parcel over inside Reverb's window
Get the parcel to the carrier within 3 business days of the sale, or within 24 hours if the buyer paid for 2-day shipping.
You should see a carrier receipt with the tracking number printed on it.
-
Open the order in Reverb
In your Reverb account, go to Orders and open the order you shipped.
You should see the order with its Shipping Details section.
-
Select Add Tracking Info
On the order, select Add Tracking Info.
You should see a form asking for a Shipping Provider and a number.
-
Fill in the Shipping Provider and the tracking number
Choose the carrier that has the parcel and enter the number from your label.
You should see a form that matches the label in your hand.
-
Select Add Tracking
Select Add Tracking to save it.
You should see the order reading as shipped, with the number under Shipping Details.
-
Read the tracking status on the order
Under Shipping Details, read the status Reverb shows against the number.
You should see a carrier scan rather than the word unknown.
-
Look the same number up at the carrier
Paste the number into the carrier's own tracking page.
You should see an acceptance or origin scan against that number, not an empty record.
If it goes wrong
- The status says unknown
Reverb is explicit that if your tracking status says "unknown", resolving it "is essential to receiving your payout". Two causes account for most of them: a number typed wrong, and a label that was printed but never scanned in.
- The number is right but nothing has scanned
A label bought late in the day often gets its first scan the next morning. Give the carrier a business day before you edit anything, because replacing a good number with a second one makes the order harder to read, not easier.
- You shipped on an untracked service
Reverb requires a valid tracking number on every order, so there is nothing to enter and nothing to verify. Buy a tracked service for Reverb sales.
What happens next
Tracking entered on the order is what verifies the shipment for Reverb, so the payout clock starts from a number that scans, not from the day you printed the label. Reverb Protection still applies on your own label, because it asks for "record of both the payment and the shipment on Reverb". If the number itself is wrong, fix it with Edit Tracking Info under Shipping Details rather than adding a second one.
One number, straight off the label
Labels bought in our app show the tracking number next to the order, so you can copy it into Add Tracking Info without reading it off a printout. Tracking is live on the label from the moment you buy it.

Reverb verifies the shipment from the tracking on the order. A missing number, or a status that reads unknown, leaves nothing for it to verify.
