How to bulk-upload tracking to eBay with a CSV
One file marks the whole batch shipped on eBay with a tracking number on every order, instead of opening them one at a time.
Checked against eBay's Seller Hub uploadable file feeds page on September 13, 2026.
Before you start
- Seller Hub, with Reports in the left menu.
- A tracking number for every order in the batch.
- The carrier value eBay uses for the carrier you shipped with, taken from eBay's own carrier list.
- A spreadsheet tool that saves CSV.
In Seller Hub Reports

Open Uploads in Seller Hub
In Seller Hub, select Reports, then select Uploads.
You should see the Uploads area, with Upload template and a list of your recent uploads.

Open Upload template
On the Uploads page, select Upload template.
You should see the upload form, with Choose file on it.

Fill one row per order
eBay's tracking feed uses ten columns: Shipping Status, Order Number, Item Number, Item Title, Custom label (SKU), Transaction ID, Shipping Carrier Used, Tracking Number, FeedbackType and Feedback.
You should see one row for each order you are shipping, each with its own tracking number.

Put eBay's carrier abbreviation in Shipping Carrier Used
Use the abbreviation from eBay's carrier list, such as UPS. A service name such as UPSNextDay is the documented failure in this column.

Optional: Leave FeedbackType and Feedback empty
The same file uploads buyer feedback. Empty cells leave your feedback untouched.

Save the file as CSV and upload it
On the Upload template form, select Choose file, pick your saved CSV, and submit it.
You should see the upload listed on the Uploads page, with a result you can open once it finishes.
For one or two orders

Open Paid and shipped in Seller Hub
In Seller Hub, open Orders, then Paid and shipped, and find the order.
You should see the order with its buyer and item.

Select the order by checking the box next to it
eBay's tracking steps start with the order selected.
You should see the box ticked and the order actions available.

Open the tracking dialog
With the order selected, select the Dispatch dropdown menu, then Add tracking number.
You should see fields for the shipping carrier and the tracking number.

Enter the carrier and number, then select Save
Pick the shipping carrier, type the tracking number, and select Save.
You should see the order showing as shipped with the tracking number attached.
If it goes wrong
- A service name in Shipping Carrier Used
eBay documents the carrier column as an abbreviation, so UPS works where UPSNextDay does not. Fix the column and upload the file again rather than editing orders one by one.
- Feedback goes out with the tracking
FeedbackType and Feedback sit in the same ten columns as the tracking number. Filling them by accident leaves public feedback on every order in the batch.
- The number uploads but the order is still not protected
eBay's seller protections turn on the carrier, not the upload: "If you ship an item within your stated handling time, and you upload tracking before the estimated delivery date from one of eBay's integrated shipping carriers that shows evidence of successful delivery, you won't be responsible for refunding the buyer" (eBay seller protections, checked 13 September 2026). eBay also states that tracking "must show an acceptance scan to prove shipping".
What happens next
eBay allows up to 6 tracking numbers on one order, so a second parcel is added rather than swapping the first. The upload feeds one of eBay's Top Rated requirements: at least 95% of transactions with tracking uploaded within handling time and validated by the carrier (eBay). Handling time runs from payment to the first carrier scan, so the batch has to reach the carrier inside it, not just reach eBay.
Skip the file
With eBay connected, buying the label posts the fulfilment back to eBay with the tracking number and carrier code, and eBay marks the order Shipped and emails the buyer. No template, no carrier abbreviation to get right. A write-back that fails keeps retrying for up to 7 days.
