Shipping software for resellers on more than one app
Sort your apps first. Poshmark, StockX and Grailed sales ship on the label the app issues, as do Vinted's prepaid-label sales and Whatnot orders unless Whatnot approved your own. eBay, Etsy, and Mercari or Depop sales you set to ship on your own take a label you buy. Batch those, weigh each one, and get tracking back on time.

Which of your apps let you use your own label?#
On some apps the label is part of the sale: the buyer pays for it at checkout, and any other label gets the order cancelled or the payout held. On others it is your choice, usually traded against the app's protection, as the right-hand column shows.

- Set before the sale
- Mercari asks at listing time which label you will use, and a Depop listing left on Depop Shipping must travel on the Depop label or be cancelled and refunded. See shipping a Mercari order on your own and shipping a Depop order with your own label.
- Whatnot BYOL is narrow
- Only international orders from France, shipping from Germany and the Wholesale category, each approved by Whatnot Support. Shipping on Whatnot covers its own label's weight bands.
What stays in the marketplace app#
Half of a typical reseller's orders never need a shipping tool. When the app issues the label with the sale, you pack, stay inside the weight it covers and get it scanned on time; no outside software prints that label, ours included. Shipping software for resellers is for the other half.
Ship on the app's label
- Poshmark: a prepaid USPS label comes with every sale.
- Vinted prepaid-label sales: send with that provider, or the order can be cancelled.
- StockX: only the label generated for that sale. US Grailed orders: a Grailed Label.
- Whatnot, unless Whatnot has approved you for Bring Your Own Label.
- Facebook Marketplace checkout orders, under Meta's Seller Protection Policy.
- Mercari and Depop sales where the app's protection is worth more to you.
Buy the label yourself
- eBay: any label, with tracking from an integrated carrier inside handling time.
- Etsy: valid tracking on any label meets Purchase Protection's tracking condition.
- Mercari or Depop listings set to ship on your own, and Vinted custom shipping.
- A Grailed XL item of 20 lb or more, after you contact Grailed.
- Direct sales, returns you pay for, anything sold outside the apps.
Mostly app labels? You need little software. A tool is for the rest.
One queue for everything else#
Set the app-label orders aside and the rest comes from four or five places. The slow part is one queue for everything else, without retyping.
- eBay
- The one marketplace you can connect: paid orders arrive with the address and a listing weight, and tracking goes back when you buy.
- Etsy
- No connection; download its orders file and The Workbench (Pro) reads it.
- Spreadsheets
- Direct or wholesale orders, as a CSV or Excel file.
- Mercari and Depop
- By paste on Pro, or as a single label on either plan. Neither has a connection, and neither export documents a full shipping address: Mercari's Gross Sales Report is a sales and fees file, and Depop does not publish its sales download's columns.
Every row is priced for its own address and weight, starting on the cheapest rate shown; change any row before you buy.
Weigh to the ounce before you buy#
Resale margins live in the ounces. On the app's label, weight is your one lever; on yours, the carrier bills the parcel it measures.
- Poshmark
- The flat label covers up to 5 lb; past that, an upgraded label comes out of your earnings.
- Whatnot
- A few ounces of mailer can move a card into the next weight band.
- Mercari
- Its label must cover the full packed weight; the carrier's measurement sets any extra fee.
- Your own label
- Under 16 oz, a USPS Ground Advantage label in the app is priced by the ounce band the packed parcel lands in, so the poly mailer, the tissue and the tape all count. At a pound it moves to pricing by the pound and zone.
Weigh the packed parcel on a scale that reads ounces, and save your usual mailers as packages, free on either plan; a pasted order has no weight until you add one. Shipping on Depop and shipping on Mercari work through the bands for light clothing.
Getting tracking back where it is due#
Only eBay gets the number from us without you. Everywhere else you paste it in the moment you buy the label, because the deadline counts from the sale, and two apps will not let you correct a typo.

The weekend run: pick list, SCAN form, pickup#
Most resellers ship in runs, say Saturday morning with Friday night's sales. The slow part is not the labels: it is finding twenty items across bins, matching slips to boxes and waiting while a clerk scans every parcel.
- Print the run in The Workbench (Pro): one 4x6 PDF for a thermal printer, each label followed by its packing slip.
- Pull stock in one pass with the pick list by item, free on either plan for connected eBay orders.
- Make one USPS SCAN form, PS Form 5630: free from My Labels, or in The Workbench on Pro.
- Drop off, or schedule a free USPS carrier pickup from the app.
USPS says one scan of the form enters every package in USPS Tracking. It takes the eBay, Etsy, Mercari and Depop labels you bought here and print yourself. Labels Poshmark, Vinted or Whatnot issued are not on it: drop those off as each app asks, keeping the drop-off proof Whatnot looks for.
A SCAN form records the count, not which parcels were in it. Keep it with the day's pick list, plus the counter receipt for own-label Mercari or Depop parcels.

No. Every Poshmark sale comes with a prepaid USPS label, the buyer pays for it at checkout, and Poshmark tells sellers to ship on it. No outside tool can print it. Use I'd Ship That for the apps where you buy the label, and for returns and direct sales. Shipping on Poshmark covers the weight lines that matter on its label.
Only if Whatnot approves you for Bring Your Own Label, which it opens only for international orders from France, shipping from Germany and the Wholesale category. Whatnot says using your own label without approval can delay your payout and stop the order's tracking from updating correctly.
Only when the trade suits the parcel. Mercari says a package shipped on your own does not qualify for Mercari Shipping Protection, and you pay all the shipping; it also requires your own label on a package over its prepaid label limits. Enter a valid tracking number on the Order Status page, because a missing one can get the sale cancelled.
No. eBay is the marketplace you can connect, and Etsy orders come in through Etsy's orders file on Pro. Mercari and Depop orders come in by pasting the address on Pro or by entering one label at a time, and their tracking goes back by hand.
Yes, when they are USPS labels you bought in I'd Ship That and print yourself. One SCAN form from My Labels, free, covers the day's eligible USPS labels whatever app the orders came from. Labels an app issued, such as Poshmark's or Vinted's, are not on it.
Probably not for those sales: Poshmark sales and Vinted's prepaid-label sales ship on the label the app issues. A tool starts to pay once a real share of your week is eBay, Etsy, own-label Mercari or Depop orders, Vinted custom-shipping sales, or direct sales you label yourself.
The account is free and you pay per label. The Workbench, which puts orders from eBay, files and pastes in one list and prints the run as one PDF, is part of Pro, which also removes the Starter platform fee. A SCAN form from My Labels and a USPS carrier pickup are free on either plan. Billing and fees lists every charge.
